Dendritic cells are considered as the main coordinators of both mucosal and systemic immune responses, thus playing a determining role in shaping the outcome of effector cell responses.

The aim of our study was to investigate the gut microbiota in patients with noncommunicable dis- eases associated with chronic inflammation, namely obesity, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cardio- vascular disease as well as to find out potential ability of edible plants fruits extracts to inhibit the growth of selected conditionally pathogenic microorganisms.

Реалії ХХІ століття засвідчують необхідність нового трактування багатьох біологічних термінів. Зокрема, згідно із актуальними досягненнями сучасної біологічної науки існує потреба у новітньому трактуванні поняття «вид» в біології.

Intestinal microbiota affects human’s metabolic and physiological processes and changes in the microbiome are associated with the progression of metabolic disorders such as obesity, atherosclerosis, and others. Despite the recent emphasis on the importance of the study of intestinal microbiota as a diagnostic and therapeutic target for metabolic syndrome (MS) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), such stud-ies have not been conducted in Ukraine.
